Planet Neptune : Varun

We often mention the term “Navagraha,” but this does not include Neptune. Our sages considered only seven planets. Neptune is the farthest planet from the Sun, discovered by scientists in 1846. It takes 165 years for Neptune to orbit the Sun and remains in each zodiac sign for approximately 12 years and 3 months.

Neptune is known as the instigator of imagination and invention. It is associated with dream power, yantra knowledge, mystic energy, and trance states. Fame in cinema is often linked to Neptune. Neptune influences the power of the Moon—the Moon governs the tides, while Neptune represents the waves and ripples they generate.

Neptune is considered the ruler of the ocean of sweet juice, the blue north-west direction, colored waves, pulsating waves, and the twinkle in the eyes. A person influenced by Neptune is often calm, cool, loving, sublime, and immersed in devotion.

Neptune governs the invisible mind and the mysterious, unfathomable aspects of the soul. It is particularly influential in intelligent, educated, religious conservatives, singers, musicians, philosophers, science-minded individuals, astrologers, and fortune-tellers. Neptune is associated with laziness, mental madness, sleepwalking, incurable diseases, dropsy, and diseases caused by contaminated water.

When Neptune is in conjunction with the Sun, it enhances Neptune’s pulsating waves, while Neptune’s imagination further amplifies the creativity of the Moon. With Mars in a favorable position, Neptune’s power is strengthened. On Mercury, Neptune adds wisdom and shrewdness, lending a futuristic and psychotic edge. A conjunction of Neptune with Jupiter is considered highly beneficial, as it adds Neptune’s devotional essence to Jupiter’s intellectual pursuits.

When Neptune aligns with Venus, it enhances artistic sensitivity, especially in singing. If Neptune is in conjunction with Saturn, it can reduce the beneficial properties of Neptune. Neptune’s association with Rahu is linked to crime, while its connection with Ketu brings devotion and disputes, often with a particular interest in stringed instruments.

Sadhu Bairagis, who live a selfless and ascetic life, are often influenced by both Neptune and Ketu. If Neptune is in the ninth house, it brings an interest in spirituality and mysticism. Individuals with this placement often receive insights from previous lifetimes or can understand things through dreams. They are future-oriented, but care should be taken when traveling by water.
