When Jupiter and Rahu are in partial conjunction in a sign, Jupiter’s qualities are obscured by Rahu. Jupiter is the planet of knowledge and wisdom, and when in conjunction with Rahu, a person may face obstacles in achieving academic success. Simple, transactional knowledge may be difficult to acquire, and a lack of conscience can lead to poor decision-making. Misunderstandings also arise quickly.
Since Jupiter is the karaka (significator) of progeny, the Guru Chandal Yoga can cause difficulties in matters related to children.
Traditionally, ‘Chandal’ is considered to represent cruelty or mean-spiritedness. Therefore, when sat pravrutti (noble tendencies) comes into contact with such an attitude, it is called Chandal Yoga.
In general, Jupiter is considered a benefic planet, representing knowledge and intelligence, while Rahu, a shadow planet, is associated with deception, illusion, and doubt. When these two planets, representing benefic and malefic forces, unite or come into contact, it forms Chandal Yoga. This is generally not considered a favorable yoga. The effects of this yoga include financial crises, loss of wealth, debt, or wrong associations.
It is important to note that the results of Chandal Yoga are not immediate. It would be inappropriate to worry as soon as this yoga appears in a horoscope. The outcome depends on other factors, such as the positions of other planets, the strength of the chart, the dasha (planetary periods), and so on. Therefore, conclusions should not be drawn hastily.
We all experienced the Jupiter-Rahu conjunction last year, and its effects were seen worldwide. It was a challenging period for almost everyone. However, after October, when Rahu changed signs, the situation began to improve.
The best remedy for this yoga is to worship Guru (Jupiter) and Lord Mahadev (Shiva).
