Venus

Venus is a powerful planet in the Navagraha. Shukracharya, the guru of the Daityas, possessed the science of Sanjeevani, which enabled him to bring dead demons back to life—knowledge that even the Gods did not have.

Venus is an auspicious and benefic planet. It represents love, romance, and glamour. Venus is associated with branded goods, social connections, fun, and a love for food. It governs aspects like art, sports, music, singing, dance, drama, and theatre, making it particularly favorable for artists. Venus also influences fields like art, software engineering, fashion design, web design, drawing, vehicle design, beauty parlors, interior decoration, and fine art.

Venus is the ruler of material happiness and, in this century, has gained greater importance, especially after Rahu. In today’s age, where materialistic pleasures dominate, Venus plays a significant role in these desires. If Venus is well-placed, everything generally goes well.

Venus is the lord of Taurus and Libra. It is exalted in Pisces and debilitated in Virgo, where it is weak but not entirely debilitated. Venus governs love affairs, love marriages, and romantic happiness, and should be well-positioned for blessings in these areas. A strong Venus also contributes positively to progeny.

Venus is considered when matching horoscopes for marriage. It is assigned a total of 52 points in Ashtaka Varga. Venus should ideally have strong points in the seventh house, the Vyay house, the fifth house, the second house, and the lagna house for marital happiness and a good marriage.

When Venus is weak or malefic, it can lead to bad habits, excessive spending, and addictive behaviors. The 12th house, the house of expenditure and moksha, is a place where Venus becomes exalted. If Venus is placed here, it can indicate a tendency toward indulgence and temptation. However, if a person seeks moksha (liberation), they should resist these temptations, but without self-control, spending can become excessive.

To overcome these tendencies, some people engage in charity. Ultimately, the strength and outcome of Venus depend on its position, its alliances with other planets, and the aspects it receives.

To strengthen Venus, the mantra Om Shukraya Namah should be chanted.
